Ms Emin wrote on TDC’s planning portal: “Arlington House is a historic building in Margate. At the time of its construction, Margate was booming, and it was an emblem of the future.
"Arlington House, the arcade and associated car park are owned and managed by the leaseholder.” Tesco put plans in place to create a store on the site of the car park and dilapidated stores in 2011.
Landlord Freshwater says building the store would pay for the renovation of Arlington House flats. "We see this as part of the overall regeneration of Margate," said spokesman Philip Hughes.
