The anointing woman, the first among the women who stood by Jesus through his crucifixion, expressed her faith and faithfulness in a gesture of love that went beyond every verbal proclamation.

The holy anointing oil at the coronation of King Charles III will be animal-cruelty free. The oil has previously contained wax from the intestines of sperm whales and civet secretions.

“The Chrism oil which will be used to anoint His Majesty The King on 6th May 2023 has been consecrated in Jerusalem today, Friday 3rd March 2023,” Buckingham Palace said in a statement today.
