The Ryder Cup will return to Ireland in 2026 when Adare Manor hosts the biennial contest between Europe and the United States for the first time, the European Tour said on Thursday.

This year Adare Manor is preparing for 150 guests, 30-40 of them children. Usually there are just 15 to 20 children in the manor over Christmas, so staff are anticipating an especially magical stay.

Adare Manor has become synonymous with luxury and elegance, from Michelin-starred dining at the Oak Room to the Tom Fazio-designed championship golf course, which is due to host the 2027 Ryder Cup.

Adare Manor is certainly a hit with famous Irish sporting figures. Shane Lowry, Conor Murray and GAA stars such as TJ Reid are all fans of it - with the latter having wed partner Niamh De Brún there.
