Reid Park Zoo delayed opening early Wednesday, March 5, after a giraffe got out of its enclosure. In a social media post, the zoo said 3-year-old giraffe Msituni was briefly outside her enclosure a little before 9 a.

According to zoo officials, Msituni, a 3-year-old giraffe new to the zoo, was outside of her habitat just before 9 a.m., before the zoo opened to the public.

The Tucson zoo opened late because three-year-old Msituni got out of her enclosure to snack on a nearby mesquite tree Wednesday morning.
