The defending national champion South Carolina Gamecocks face the Texas Longhorns in the Final Four of the 2025 Women’s NCAA Division I tournament on Friday, April 4 at Amalie Arena in Tampa, Fla.

Texas has advanced to the Final Four for the first time since 2003 and the fourth time overall after beating TCU 58-47 in the Elite Eight. The Longhorns’ smothering defense gave the Horned Frogs fits all game long, forcing 21 turnovers and allowing only 12 made field goals on 27% shooting.

Madison Booker scored 18 points and No. 1 seed Texas used its stifling defense to reach the Final Four of the women’s NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2003, beating well-traveled point guard Hailey Van Lith and second-seeded TCU 58-47.

The Women's Final Four gets underway on Friday, April 4 and fans can still get tickets to see it live and in-person.

Texas is moving on to its first Final Four since 2003. In recent years, the Longhorns had knocked at the door of the final weekend of the NCAA Tournament, having lost in the Elite Eight in three of the last four seasons. Not on Monday, though. Not against their in-state opponent. Texas’ 35th victory of the season is also a new program record.

Texas’ 64-year-old coach became the fifth person to lead two programs to the Final Four of the women’s NCAA Tournament.
