Parents, students and leaders express concerns at Metro Public Schools' board meeting just six days after a deadly school shooting.

Family, friends, and the Nashville community are left grief-stricken by the loss of Josselin Corea Escalante, whose life was cut short by a shooting at Antioch High School Wednesday. Community members gathered for the 16-year-old’s funeral on Sunday,

Police are on the scene at Antioch High School near Nashville after shots were fired in the building on Wednesday.

A 16-year-old female student was killed, another student was wounded, and the shooter—a 17-year-old male student—killed himself, per police.

MNPD responded to the school where three students were shot, including the suspect, who shot himself, according to police.

One 16-year-old girl named Josselin Corea Escalante was killed, and two other students were injured. The injured students were taken to Vanderbilt Pediatrics for medical attention. The shooter shot himself and died from the self-inflicted wound.

The Metro Nashville Police Department opted to permanently add a third school resource officer to Antioch High School as students return Tuesday.

Antioch High School, which just experienced a deadly shooting, reportedly did not have metal detectors because of administrators' concerns about racism.
