Highway 70 in Marysville, which has been a headache for many local drivers, is set to reopen this weekend after the demolition of the Hotel Marysville.

Caltrans has announced that Highway 70 will fully reopen in the city of Marysville this week, after a fire at the historic Hotel Marysville forced the partial closure of the artery.

Seven months after the June fire that gutted the Hotel Marysville, normal traffic along Highway 70 through the downtown will resume Friday.

Caltrans, in collaboration with the city of Marysville, is set to reopen northbound Highway 70 this Friday evening following the demolition of the historic Hotel Marysville.

With the Hotel Marysville reduced to an approximately 9,000 cubic yard pile of construction debris, the city and Caltrans Thursday announced Highway 70’s northbound lanes in front of the former structure will be reopened late Friday.
