The volleyball player who went into cardiac arrest at a tournament in Boston has died. John Verbo, a junior at Colonie Central High School, was 16 years old.

John P. Verbo, a 16-year-old junior at Colonie High School, was competing at the Boston Volleyball Festival with the Capital Sliders, a Capital Region club based in Clifton Park.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday for a 16-year-old from Colonie who died while playing in a volleyball tournament in Boston. John Verbo died on Feb. 25 at Tufts Medical Center. He was a junior at Colonie Central High School and enjoyed playing basketball and pickleball,
