As the calendar flips to October and the first of two bye weeks for Notre Dame football, here are a few arguments on both sides of the CFP ledger.

Notre Dame has +190 odds at online sportsbooks to make the 2024 College Football Playoff. Thanks to a favorable schedule and stout defense, they have a shot.

Elsewhere, ESPN's Mark Schlabach and Kyle Bonagura have Penn State in the field as well. Both project Penn State playing a road game as the No. 9 seed: Schlabach has Penn State heading to Oregon, Bonagura pits the Nittany Lions vs. Georgia.
