Where do I start. This must be what Ayers Rock was once like before it became overly commercial. It is a fair drive out there, but so worth the effort. We went in from Meekatharra and the road was ab…Full review by Malferg

It's not a steep walk but quite long - one of our group did it early in the morning with plenty of water . Probably took 3 hours? Hope this helps..

Hi David, November is a hot & windy month in WA, more so further inland. Travel companies would not have tours in Mt Augustus during that time. We were there mid October 2018 for a 5 nights stay, being mostly on our own in the caravan park. We trek to the top of Mt Augustus leaving before day light and starting the walk by 5.15am, arriving at the summit by 7.15 with breakfast at the top, back to the campsite by 10am. We saw only another couple as we were heading back. The walk is not difficult and well sign posted. Anyone with reasonable fitness can do it no matter what age. To really appreciate this area, I would recommend 2 full days. You do not need a guide but have to follow the signs especially at the beginning of the walk. You cannot get lost in this area. WA National Parks are absolutely beautiful with great facilities but Mt Augustus does not have any being so remote. The track is however well maintained. Enjoy your trip. Odile
Has anyone driven the road from Mt Augustus to Tom Price via Dooley Downs Road and Paraburdoo and can advise on driving conditions in June?
A:
We did this route in early July 17 in a 150 series and off road camp trailer. Road was ok, some rough spots but worth the trip. Can't wait to do it again.
