The RV park is fine but it’s convenient location to ferry and subway make it a fabulous stay. And the Liberty State Park in general is fabulous: great biking! Full review by susiew2

What a wonderful view of the NY skyline from here. This park is huge and so many places that you can have your own picnic (bring your food from home). Paid parking is plenty. I recommend coming in… Full review by Moe_Ipak

I don't want to actually see anything except the outside of the Statue of Liberty. So how long is the ferry ride to the Statue of Liberty? How do I get back to NJ shore?

I believe the Statue Cruise boats go the closest to the SOL. But ferries (such as the Staten Island) go by it on their routes.
