I would recommend taking the ride first thing in the morning when they open b/c the animals will be really hungry. Ride lasts 30 minutes and run every 40 minutes or so.

No you do not need a reservation for small parties. The tickets are timed when you get them at the window. We had to wait approximately an hour. But they have a little zoo that you can walk through while waiting. Also they have a cafe if you need to get something to eat. I believe you can purchase tickets ahead of time on line for whatever time you may be there, we did not forbid however. Hope this helps and happy traveling!!
