The trail in July was very beautiful with wildflowers most of the way. The trail is 3 miles to the upper lake with a few steep inclines. The hike is not dangerous but a few of the inclines are tough…Full review by Derek F

Some snow on the highest peaks, not at the top where the lake is. No bears —high human and canine traffic this time of year. Wildflowers were beautiful

It's open year round. If it's snowed by then you won't get as far back in there unless you take good boots. We hiked it back in mid June this year and there was still mushy snow by the …

It's open year round. If it's snowed by then you won't get as far back in there unless you take good boots. We hiked it back in mid June this year and there was still mushy snow by the lake so we couldn't get back there with tennis shoes on. Great hike though.
