WEBDec 4, 2019 · The SNES mini's advantage is 1) cheap, 2) portable, 3) compatible with modern TVs, 4) hackable, 5) it's official Nintendo, 6) savestates. I don't think you'd find a satisfactory way of getting it to run on a CRT (video conversion can be expensive and add more lag) and the emulation on the SNES mini is decent, it's not perfect.

WEBOct 21, 2017 · The output from the snes mini is 16:9, so you're better off with an original snes if you need to play on a CRT. They make adapters but it'll be squished on a 4:3 TV.
